WHAT TYPE OF THERAPY DO YOU OFFER?

I specialize in working with Black and Brown youth, teens, and young adults ages 11 to 25. I offer individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy, depending on your needs and goals.

My approach is trauma-informed, culturally affirming, and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based, and client-centered care. But more than anything, I believe in meeting people where they are emotionally, mentally, and in their healing journey.

Clients often come to work through things like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity struggles, school or career stress, family issues, grief, trauma, racial stress, big emotions, peer conflict, or life transitions. Whether you’re dealing with something heavy or just trying to figure things out, therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to do it alone.

ARE SESSIONS VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON, HOW LONG ARE THEY, HOW LONG WILL I NEED THERAPY?

I currently offer virtual sessions only, which typically last around 50 minutes. There’s no set number of sessions, therapy is a personal journey. Some folks come for a few months, others stay longer depending on their goals and what life throws their way. We’ll check in regularly to see what’s working and adjust based on your progress and needs.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FIRST SESSION?

The first session is all about getting to know you , no pressure to share everything at once. We’ll talk about what brought you here, go over your intake paperwork, and start mapping out your goals together.

DO I NEED TO HAVE A MENTAL HEALTH DIAGNOSIS?

You don’t need a diagnosis to deserve support. Some clients come with one, some don’t either way, we’ll focus on your goals and what you want out of therapy.

DO YOU PROVIDE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT LETTERS (ESA)?

No. I do not provide ESA letters in my practice.

I understand the importance of support animals for many individuals, however ESA evaluations and documentation fall outside the scope of services I offer at this time.

WHAT MAKES YOUR PRACTICE DIFFERENT?

I create a space where you don’t have to shrink yourself, explain every part of who you are, or pretend everything’s fine. Clients have often said that therapy with me doesn’t feel like therapy  in the best way.

That connection matters. Whether we’re unpacking something deep or just checking in, you’ll be met with honesty, warmth, and zero judgment. I bring a mix of clinical training, lived experience, and realness  because healing happens when you feel safe, seen, and truly understood.

DO I HAVE TO BE IN A SPECIFIC LOCATION?

At the time of your session, you must physically be located in one of the states where I’m licensed: Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri, Colorado, Virginia, Minnesota, Texas, Washington, or Florida. That’s a legal requirement for all therapists providing virtual care.

You’ll also need to be in a safe, private, and quiet space where you can speak freely. If you’re in your car, that’s fine,  just please don’t drive during your session.

I do accept insurance. Payment is due at the time of your session, even when using insurance. I’ll verify your coverage before we get started so you know what to expect.

WHAT IF I'M NERVOUS OR NOT SURE WHAT TO TALK ABOUT?

That’s normal and okay. You don’t need to have the “right” words. We’ll figure it out together. Therapy is a space where you get to be real, even when you’re unsure or uncomfortable.

DO YOU COMPLETE DISABILITY OR ACCOMODATION PAPERWORK?

Yes, I can complete disability or accommodation paperwork only for established clients who are fully engaged in ongoing treatment. Eligibility for documentation is based on clinical appropriateness, diagnostic criteria, and observed need.

Clients must be active in therapy for a minimum of three to six months (depending on clinical presentation and frequency of sessions) before any documentation can be considered. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and completion is not guaranteed.

IM INTERESTED IN THERAPY- WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?

If you’re ready to explore working together, the first step is to fill out the Consultation Form. It helps me get a sense of what you’re looking for and make sure I’m a good fit for your needs. Once it’s submitted, I’ll reach out within 1–2 business days
